Ugly Betty is an American comedy-drama television set serials made by Silvio Horta, which premiered on ABC on September 28, 2006. The serials revolves round Betty Suarez, an humdrum and good-natured girl, and her incongruous job at the ultra-chic New York City style magazine publisher Mode.

The positive character and main protagonist of the picture is Betty Suarez (America Ferrera), a recent college higher looking to grow into the publishing business. The show also strongly focusing on her boss Daniel Meade (Eric Mabius), a loaded playboy who is given the office of editor-in-chief of Mode by his father, the magazine’s proprietor. The show’s main adversary is Wilhelmina Slater (Vanessa Williams), Mode’s creative director, who incessantly schemes to usurp Daniel’s position at Mode and take over the his family’s printing imperium.

Other major characters on the show include Betty’s family, work workfellow (including the Meade family), and love interests. The Suarez household comprises of father Ignacio (Tony Plana), a dealing man with wellness and immigration problems who is a master cook; older sister Hilda (Ana Ortiz), a single going mother; and nephew Justin (Mark Indelicato) a fantastic adolescent extremely interested in fashion and acting. Betty’s co-workers at Mode let in Marc St. James (Michael Urie), Wilhelmina’s openly queer and ferociously loyal personal supporter; Amanda Sommers (Becki Newton), the attractive and vacuous receptionist who is Marc’s greatest friend, Betty’s frenemy, and Daniel’s former lover; Christina McKinney (Ashley Jensen), a dressmaker who goes Betty’s best friend on her first day of work; and Henry Grubstick (Christopher Gorham), a nerdy accountant who is Betty’s love concern in seasons one and two. The Meade family consists of father Bradford (Alan Dale), a deep man with a account of infidelity; mother Claire (Judith Light), an alcoholic who serves as a mother figure for Betty and a rival for Wilhelmina; and older sister Alexis (Rebecca Romijn), a virile to female homosexual who has a argumentative family relationship her father and brother. Bradford exits the show during its second season; both Christina and Alexis leave during the third time of year.
